Following a highly successful career as a pediatrician and health care leader, Dr. Dan Hyman decided to embark on a new venture. Frontline Quality Solutions, LLC (FQS) draws upon his broad experience improving the safety and quality of care at several children’s hospitals. Dan now partners with individual hospitals, health systems, healthcare leaders and practice groups to provide services such as program evaluation, strategic planning, leadership development, program design and more.
Like many consultants and entrepreneurs, Dan needed a logo and website to help bring his business to life. So where do we start?
I always start with a lot of questions. This also means a lot of listening. While brainstorming with Dan and Ben Roman of Float Communications (the project’s website developer), Dan mentioned that he had loads of photos that he’d taken in Colorado where he once lived and worked. Could there possibly be any connection between those pictures and FQS?
Well, there was. After looking at Dan’s gorgeous shots of mountains, I came up with the concept “Achieve peak performance” which fit perfectly with the mission of FQS. “Peaks” became the primary visual idea behind the logo as well as the website. In addition to providing a fresh palette of blue and green, we were able to showcase Dan’s photographs, revealing his personal side.
Ben and I really enjoy collaborating on projects like this. We partner on concept development. I handle branding and art direction for the website. Ben handles website development as well as integration with social media and email. Our clients reap the benefit of what we each do best. Branding and a website are essential these days.
